In the beer business, beer that is no longer suitable for sale or purchase because of old packaging dates is known as old code. At the time of recording, there was an abundance of such substance, so it just seemed fitting to name the band and recording project after a few long nights of Old Code.
Once the recording was finished, Reade Ollivier (The Mark Inside) was on the hunt for bandmates to help spread the word of the Old Code. He found a drummer in early 2015 named Cale Elliot-Armstrong (The Commandeers), who was itching to get back on the drums after a two year hiatus. Solidifying a rehearsal space in downtown Toronto, the two started the gel that would be Old Code. A few months later, Kyle Thornhill (California Death Rays) was enlisted as bass player extraordinaire for the final mould of the 3 piece garage rock band. This would be Reade's introduction at playing guitar and vocals for the band, as he was so commonly used to sitting back and hitting drums for many years. Boom. The sound of the three gentlemen had now come to fruition.
Old Code. Pleasuring the masses with their 3 minute inspired hook-driven rock and roll songs.
